Carl L. Craft

Carl L. Craft, 93, of Pine Harbor, GA passed away on December 17, 2023. He was born in Nitro, WV on January 25, 1930, and grew up in Cheshire, Ohio. He later moved to Carlisle, Ohio where he lived for over 30 years.  Carl was a kind and gentle soul who possessed boundless energy. He had a deep love for his wife, Louise, of 68 years, his 3 children, Carl, Peggy, and Cathy; his grandchildren Ryan, Andie, Jordan, and Abbi; his 4 great-grandchildren Malachi, Jonah, Natalie, and Lincoln; his siblings Carol, Paul, Ray, and Mary Ann; and his many nephews and nieces.

Carl attended Rio Grande College and then served in the Air Force for 4 years. Upon completing his military service, he returned to Rio Grande College, graduating in his final year. Subsequently, he earned his master's degree at East Carolina University.

Carl embarked on a fulfilling career, initially as a 6th-grade teacher and then as the Principal of Carlisle Elementary School.  He made a significant impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues throughout his tenure.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles, and sister Betty. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Louise Craft, his children Carl Craft, Jr, Peggy Trissell (Phil Daniels), Cathy Craft (Steve Ailiff); his grandchildren Ryan Williams (Jessica), Andie Williams, and Jordan Trissell, and Abbi Daniels; 4 great-grandchildren. 

Carl will be remembered for his kindness and love of nature.

A graveside service will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery-Greenwich Section in Savannah, GA, on December 21, 2023, at 2:00 pm to honor Carl's life and legacy. Contributions in his memory can be made to Hospice of Golden Isles.

Carl L. Craft will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
